What’s on your mind? Tell us in our customer survey
Yesterday, we sent out a support newswire email to all of our customers, announcing the recent updates to Corporation Tax, Tax Professional and P11D. Along with a message from Martin Mayer, the new head of support, the email also included a link to our Customer Survey.
We love hearing from you, and we’d really appreciate it if you could take 5 minutes to tell us exactly what you think about Keytime, our products, and our support. Just click the button below, and the survey will pop up.
Thanks!

The year ahead
It’s been a busy January here at Keytime Towers, with 1000 tax queries resolved, and 57 000 tax returns successfully filed during the month. I thought I’d give you a brief update on what we’ll be up to for the rest of the year.
Development
For the rest of the tax year, the development team will be beavering away at testing and polishing the 2010 release of the Accountants Suite. The biggest change you’ll see is the introduction of Client Manager Plus, which replaces Client Manager, and has been written from the ground up, adding CRM, Time & Fees and Job Tracking functions.

As the dust settles… Self Assessment January 2010 Review
The sound that best describes the start of February for everyone involved in Self Assessment filing is probably “Phew!” There’s a certain freedom that comes with successfully navigating the filing deadline. The team here have put in some late nights and long days to help you with your queries, and we certainly enjoy the return to normality that February marks.
I’m hoping to start a tradition, where we perform a review of the filing season just passed, and look at what went well, and where we could get better for next year. I’d love to hear what you think, about what we can do to make January 2011 more peaceful for you, and about what you felt went well in January 2010; please drop me a comment below, or email me at info@keytime.co.uk. Fairly basic support page with blog
I’ll admit it. Our current Keytime website needs a spot of TLC, and the description of our previous support page (http://www.keytime.co.uk/support) above is pretty accurate. I think the blog postings are informative and helpful, but our customers deserve more, so we looked at alternatives. (In fact, we started looking at it back in August – the truly committed can read my thoughts at the time here).

Test Drive working well…
About a month ago, we launched our new Test Drive facility. This allows you to try out any of the Keytime practice software in a browser – no need to install software, register it etc.
You are up and running in minutes and it runs as though installed on your PC.
So far, we have had over 75 firms/individuals try it out and 50% turn out to be genuinely interested. We have so far managed to convert 6 of them into proper sales, with several more in the pipeline.
We view this as a good result as the time frame was much shorter than when we used to send evaluation discs out or point interested parties at the download fro the website.
Interestingly, everyone we have spoken to says they like this new way of evaluating Keytime software and they intend to recommend that their colleagues and friends in similar businesses try it out.
If you have a few minutes yourself and want to try it out, click this link

Usability is a lie, and what that means for our support website
As a clued up, savvy individual, I’m sure you’ll be familiar with the hubbub that surrounds any website change, and the focus on usability. There are reams and reams of books, articles, papers and websites that focus on this particular term (17 million results if you google the word) and it sometimes feels that you can’t discuss websites without coming back to this idea.
