The year ahead
It’s been a busy January here at Keytime Towers, with 1000 tax queries resolved, and 57 000 tax returns successfully filed during the month. I thought I’d give you a brief update on what we’ll be up to for the rest of the year.
Development
For the rest of the tax year, the development team will be beavering away at testing and polishing the 2010 release of the Accountants Suite. The biggest change you’ll see is the introduction of Client Manager Plus, which replaces Client Manager, and has been written from the ground up, adding CRM, Time & Fees and Job Tracking functions.
In Tax Professional, we’ve redesigned the Capital Allowance calculator, and improved the Dividends database introduced in Tax 2009, plus a raft of minor changes, tweaks and improvements suggested by you.
Corporation Tax also benefits from the new Capital Allowances calculator, as well as the usual tweaks and bug-fixes.
Accounts Production has a few minor releases planned for throughout the year, bringing updates to the formatting of accounts, journal entry, reversing journals, and implementing some of the user feedback we’ve collected throughout the year.
From May onwards, our main focus is the completion of our iXBRL filing function, with the CT computation planned for a summer release, with statutory accounts following before the end of year; well before the April 2011 deadline.
In the latter part of the year, the cycle starts again, as we move the plan for the 2011 release into a final form. We work on this plan throughout the previous year, with a clear direction for enhancements decided early, leaving room for feedback from within Keytime Towers, and from you.
If you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them. You can add them to our Feature Request forum, comment on existing suggestions, send them directly to support via a support ticket, or email us. We’ve had some great ideas sent in already, and in this case, more really is more.
Support
You may have seen us advertising for a new member of the Support team. I’m pleased to say that this role has been filled, helping us to help you better. There are a whole host of initiatives we have planned for improving support further this year, which Jim has written about.
